Meet the team
Born in the Netherlands and with over 20-years of experience in the event management industry, Michael has worked on multiple projects enabling associations, agencies, companies as well as governmental institutions to fulfill their vision.
Officially joining New Way Management in 2014, Michael’s professional career began in 1999 where he worked for an association management company in Brussels. He then joined one of the leading event management companies and PCOs to focus on scientific congress management, managing various roles and functions in the process. His prominent position in the sector gave him the opportunity to work internationally from both Beijing and Hong Kong.
Managing the company’s logistical changes, Michael continues to push New Way’s success forwards. His people-focused attitude and understanding of global cultures are a great asset and are much needed in todays globalised setting.
Wessel has unparalleled experience in organising large-scale scientific congresses, having held senior positions with a variety of (medical) professional associations.
Having lived across multiple locations including North America, Europe and Asia, he started his professional career with the not-for-profit Leadership Program of Up with People, providing him with extended opportunity, exposure and experience in the sector.
In 2001 he joined Europe’s leading Association and Event Management Company and worked in its Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) department. In 2006 he returned to working directly for not-for-profit organisations where he lated founded New Way Management in 2010.
Leading the company through any obstacle or challenge, Wessel pays great attention to detail, successfully supervising multiple projects and earning himself a strong reputation. He has developped and built a solid network in the process.
Piero was born in Italy. Having lived in several countries while growing up, including the Netherlands, Belgium and Uganda, he has since started his own family in beautiful Tuscany.
His career began as part of the meetings and events team of a medial philanthropic association in 2014. In time, he has built solid experience in all facets of the MICE industry, covering multiple roles within the organization. He enjoys using his expertise in events organization, online education and webinar management in order to propel innovative and sustainable solutions in our ever-evolving world.
Learning new languages is something that has accompanied Piero through most of his life, he is fluent in Italian, English and French and has good knowledge of Spanish. His ability to remain calm while under pressure has proven to be incredibly valuable in fulfilling the vision of our respective clients.
Graduating from Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow last summer is Matthew, the latest member of New Way Management. Having lived in 8 different countries, his passion for knowledge and learning about cultures are apparent.
With a young mindset and a fresh entry into the professional world, he has much to learn but his enthusiasm and good intentions are clear. He is responsible for managing all operations in our latest coworking space, as well as our social media footprint.
His international experience in Africa, Asia and Europe have made him adaptable and always open to trying new experiences, which should help greatly while offering onsite event support with registrations.
Malou, originally Dutch, obtained her bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the reputed Hotel Management School Maastricht in 2005.
After having obtained her degree she moved to Brussels to start her career in one of the leading Association and Event Management Companies to focus on the organization of corporate meetings all over the world. Within this company she developed her career and expanded her experience to different roles and functions as well as to scientific congress management. She has worked for a wide range of corporate clients and associations in professional, mostly scientific sectors.
Her international experience and expertise and interest in multi-cultural business environments brought her back to her current job; organizing a variety of (medical) scientific congresses and educational programs for not-for-profit organisations all around the world.
Malou is fluent in Dutch (mother tongue), English and German.
